Rating of private, public hospitals to begin from 2019

Beginning January 2019, all private and public sector health care facilities in Dubai will be rated on their level of care and expertise, in accordance with the Dubai Health Facilities Performance Framework (DHFPF), officials said. This rating system, to be implemented in five phases, will streamline health care and provide boost the burgeoning medical tourism sector.

UAE patients have the best access to healthcare in the Middle East, BMI says

Patients in the UAE have the best access to healthcare in the Middle East as the country rolls out mandatory medical insurance and harnesses new technology for disease treatment.
The UAE earned the highest regional score on the Middle East Healthcare Access Index compiled by BMI Research, a unit of Fitch group, according to a report released on Friday. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman followed while Iraq trailed the list with the lowest score.

Patients can now rate Dubai healthcare facilities

The plan to rate Dubai’s healthcare facilities according to patient satisfaction is on track and will be implemented starting next year, announced officials from the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
DHA will rate all healthcare facilities including public and private hospitals and day-care health centres in accordance with the Dubai Health Facilities Performance Framework (DHFPF).

Medical Tourism in Abu Dhabi: A Goal on the Road to Reality

A new policy to govern the use and implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in health care has been released by the emirate’s health sector regulator, the Department of Health. The policy, released on Monday, reflects the department’s support for the development, use and adoption of customised AI technologies and software to enhance health care in Abu Dhabi, the Department announced in a statement.

The Ras Al Khaimah (RAK)-based Arabian Healthcare Group has formed a strategic alliance with Dignity Health, one of the largest health care providers based in the United States, to provide advanced medical services.
The group that includes flagship RAK Hospital, RAK Medical Centres, RAK Diabetes Centres and several other entities will provide more advanced medical services in the area of orthopaedics, rehabilitation, oncology, neuroscience, cardiology and thoracic medical care, for patients within the UAE and surrounding countries.
